Dear Curlew Families and Staff,

I want to provide an update regarding the safety incident reported earlier today.

At approximately 2:30 PM, local law enforcement completed a full sweep of our school facilities. No threats were found, and there is no indication of danger to students or staff at this time.

Law enforcement has also informed us that multiple swatting incidents occurred across Washington State today, indicating this was part of a broader pattern rather than a situation specific to Curlew School District.

We are grateful for the quick and professional response from law enforcement and for the calm cooperation of our staff and students throughout the process. The safety of our school community remains our highest priority.

Curlew School District will have a 2-hour late start tomorrow, with school beginning at 10:10 AM. Buses will follow their regular routes just hours later than normal.

Thank you for your patience, trust, and partnership as we continue to work closely with law enforcement to ensure a safe learning environment.

Safety Update: A threat was reported at the school and immediately address with law enforcement. All safety protocols are being followed. Everyone is safe. Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing school at 1:30. Buses will be driving their regular routes at that time. Please meet your kids at your normal stops. Pick up students will meet you at the end of the parking lot. Any students that are not picked up at their bus stops will be taken to the Civic Hall in Curlew.
