While the Communities in Schools snack basket is in no way the only food available through the school day, it is an important part of relationship building and helps address an underlying need of hunger that, if left unaddressed, can develop into classroom behavior problems. Students stop in before class, during passing periods, at lunchtime, and after school for a snack and quick chat with the Student Support Coordinator, Ms. Rachel, and this helps kids stay grounded and focused through the day. CIS knows that a hungry student is an unfocused student, so we work hard to fill that need for long term success!
